I live in an area which suffers badly with flytipping, people just dont care and treat it like a dump. It makes me so angry and sad and I waste so much bloody time reporting it, speaking to councillors etc. Got an update today that something I reported a few weeks ago had evidence in and they've issued a fine to the household

I'm chuffed and hope it is the first fine of many!!

So tell me your little wins, where you've caught out selfish arsehole neighbours (or just people!) and got sweet revenge

When I moved in it was a BTL (I later bought it from the LL). The last tenants had moved out after 6 months due to constant whinging, Noise of kids playing in garden, tenant mowing lawn, visitors parking outside, etc. LL thought they would have nothing to complain about when a single academic moved in. How wrong she was. NDN just found other things to whinge about. Including the fact that I never open the door to randoms.

The only thing I can say in favour of my NDNs is that they are quiet. They go to bed at 9pm and get up at 6 am. The problem is that they expect everyone else to creep around as well!

Its a pity that I only remember to put out my bins at 11 pm the night before bin day. And if its the brown bin those tin cans and bottles being dropped into it from a great height make a hell of a clatter!

Then there is the app of cats fighting/having sex that I have on my tablet. Can make quite a racket under an open window at silly o'clock on a summer evening.

I dont have a cat.

A few years ago someone started to hang plastic bags of dogshit in the small tree in my front garden. This went on for months and I could never work out who it was. During lockdown I set up my office in the front room of my house and low and behold I discovered the culprit. I discreetly followed her home and found her living on the next street over. I waited a few weeks for a carrier bags worth of shit to be collected in the tree before making a midnight raid on her home where I hung all the shit on various plants, bushes, gnomes, front door knob and garden path. Childish I know, but fuck her and her shit arsed bark machine.

If I decide to move I will sell to the biggest loudest family I can find. Or someone who wants to turn it into a HMO and do a huge extention.

Reminds me of a previous home, that had a large oak tree with a post box next to it at the end of the front garden. kitchen was at the front of the house. People seemed to just take their dog for a walk to the post box (and let it poo on my front garden).

I kept a roll of doggie poo bags by the sink and if I spotted a culprit I'd wizz out of the front door (next to the kitchen) and say 'Here' have a bag, I could see you forgot yours'

@DillonPanthersTexas Good on you! Has she done again it since then or has she stopped?

Ahahahahaaaa!!!

That's brilliant!!!

What an unpleasant person this was to do that. Did they stop after that?

DillonPanthersTexas you definitely win. I love this.

I used to have occasionally irritatingly noisy neighbours who loved to play REALLY loud dad-rock music on nice days when one might want to use one’s garden. Was particularly irksome as they’d raved about how lovely and quiet the area was when they’d moved in. They pissed quite a few of us off with other sundry selfishness and eventually got frozen out to the point that they decided to move- took quite a while as they had the hide of a rhino and couldn’t conceive of the idea that people might not think as highly of them as they did themselves.

I remember with satisfaction the afternoon when they cranked up the Straits- I selected a tune with a slightly opposing beat, shoved the speakers over to their side and whacked up the volume just loud enough for them to be able to hear. Then started whistling off-key as loudly as possible.

They couldn’t say a damn thing because I wasn’t doing anything they hadn’t done themselves but it made it impossible to enjoy either tune. Took about ten minutes before they switched it off and then peace reigned again….

Our NDN at the family home took against my parents when they objected to an extension to his house which extended the party wall, so foundations ended up on our land, tried to barge on regardless, meaning that a whole new kitchen had to be taken down again. Then my DF died, and they enjoyed aggravating DM in any way they could. As mere women, we were seen as easy targets. Not long after that, DM died as well. One annoying tactic was to park so that my car was hemmed in. He would have liked to engineer a row, but I always managed to wriggle out, sometimes with difficulty. I didn't have "For Sale" notices up, but was keen to get away, and luckily got a quick sale; one of a purchasers was a man, so I had no concerns that he would get similar grief, (and I learned from former neighbours that this was indeed the case).
So moving day was a complete surprise to them. I moved my car for the pantechnicon's benefit, but didn't concern myself over much that, because NDN had parked in closely at one end of my car, intending to make life awkward for me if at all possible, NDN was now effectively hemmed in by the removal van. I drove on ahead in my car to my new address, leaving him to raise the matter if he wished with four burly removal men. Like most bullies, he was a coward at heart, and no comment was made.
