To go on a date with a younger guy?

Been asked out on a date by a 26 year old. I'm 47. Both single. Should I go and just enjoy a very rare night out or give it a miss and spend yet another night at home?

Do you like him?

oldenoughtobehismother · 01/08/2021 23:07

We get on well, have things in common, he's very much 'my type'. I'm just concerned about the age difference. I'm not expecting it to progress to anything serious but am dithering about whether to go out for dinner!

I say you have nothing to lose, go for it. The worst case scenario is you have a night out with good company. The best case scenario is you have a night out with good company which leads to something more!

I personally wouldn’t date anyone that much younger than me. However he is well into adulthood so it’s really up to you both.

I think it maybe depends what you are both looking for ( eg a casual date or dating hoping to find a long term partner etc).

Go for it OP, why not!

At 26 he knows what is he doing. Unless you are in position of power, like a boss, it's fine.
Same for reversed genders. Consenting adults

Go

He's a fully grown adult who has asked you of his own free will. You like hom back. Go

shivermetimbers77 · 02/08/2021 00:03

Yes, absolutely go! He’s a full grown man, enjoy!

oldenoughtobehismother · 02/08/2021 09:37

Thanks for the replies. Date is tonight. Stupidly I think I'm more worried about what other people might think
