Can't get past this worry

So, I gave birth 3 months ago and I am ready to get intimate again with do but we never make it so far as actually having sex, I freeze up during foreplay as I worry that things won't feel the same for either of ua, I had internal and external stitches when after giving birth, which have healed fine, all looks okay but I still can't stop worrying.
Dp has been amazing and really supportive about it saying things seem the same, from a foreplay point of view.
Has anyone else experienced this and what helped you get past that worry? Smile

Time op, you've been through a massive trauma down there. It took me 12 months and dh not once pushed tried or complained.

I had similar issues to you. Only had external stitches. Was so scared of sex for the first 3 months. Then when we finally did it, it was uncomfortable and we had to stop. Hard to know if it was my anxiety that amplified the discomfort. Anyway, we just took our time over the next few months. No pressure. Lots of foreplay to ensure wetness. After about 6 months post baby, sex was completely back to normal.

@Panickingpavlova it's me initiating it as dp was rather anxious about it causing me pain after seeing the recovery from the episiotom. I'm fine up until the point I think it's going to go to full sex and then panic sets in.

@Missgemini it's only just the past couple of weeks I've felt ready, as I said, foreplay has been completely fine, haven't felt any pain etc.. Its good to hear that things do go back to normal fairly quickly though.

I think we sometimes put too much pressure on ourselves and forget what our bodies have gone through
