should learn how to use the bookmark function rather than constantly posting ‘shamelessly placemarking’ and filling up threads unnecessarily. It’s not rocket science. It’s literally a button in the bottom right corner of the post which appears when you hover your cursor over it.

Then posting loads of TAATs begging for the next update to a mundane thread.

Awaiting the rude replies along the lines of why do I care, why am I trying to dictate what people do, I’ll post what I like, thanks, I don’t understand the bookmark, the bookmark doesn’t appear, I’ve always placemarked so what.

Firstly, I've deactivated the bookmark function because it clutters up my screen.

Secondly, if you bookmark instead of posting you don't see any deletion message.

Why do you care though?

@MotionActivatedDog got there first

MotionActivatedDog · 31/07/2021 23:44

Is there an update to this?

MotionActivatedDog · 31/07/2021 23:45

Did the OP come back?

GertietheGherkin · 31/07/2021 23:46

I don't want to bookmark 😂

TopBlogger · 31/07/2021 23:46

@DramaAlpaca I get the deletion message when I bookmark, and how does it clutter your screen? It only comes up on mine when I hover over the bottom of a post

@itcouldhave YANBU it ruddy annoying, especially when the thread is near 1000 and you get daft "shamelessly place marking" cluttering up , or dots

CoronaPeroni · 31/07/2021 23:58

You should be able to swipe an individual message left and then bookmark it, so when you return to a thread it starts right where you bookmarked Smile

@ErrolTheDragon

Hey, how you manage that?

I did it before, then I forgot ☹

Sparklfairy · 01/08/2021 00:08

Yeah, BUT if it's a long thread that I come back to multiple times, you can't 'unbookmark' and then bookmark at the new place you got to. Then when you refresh it throws you right up to the place you bookmarked 327 posts ago and you have to hunt down to where you got to. It's a PITA.

FlowerArranger · 01/08/2021 00:10

Come on, children - bedtime!!!! Wink

You can in the app! Not sure about the actual site though.
DramaAlpaca · 01/08/2021 00:19

@TopBlogger it clutters up the screen because on the right of every post on a thread is the word 'bookmark' with a symbol. I don't like it, so I've hidden it. We might be using different versions of MN, I'm using the desktop version on a tablet.

JaninaDuszejko · 01/08/2021 00:21

You definitely can change bookmarks on the actual site bookmarks.

gardeninggirl68 · 01/08/2021 00:22

Shouldn't this be in site stuff?
