AIBU to ask how to use perfume properly?

Perhaps it's a bit of a daft question, but how is it that some people seem to move around in a cloud of perfume all day? Are they doing something I'm not?

I usually do a spray on each wrist and one on my neck, but it never seems to last very long.

I have a sample of Baccarat Rouge 540 and I want to make the most of it!

I think it's more that your used to the smell of your perfume rather than it not lasting maybe, I can never smell mine but would smell it on someone else

You’re not using anywhere near enough! One spray will dissipate in about an hour!

If you want to smell like a cloud you really need to create a cloud and walk through it!

Spray, delay, and walk away!

Thank you! I will be more liberal with it.

High quality perfumes usually need to be reapplied every 6 hours. I think the key is to spray it generously all over including your clothes. Reviews on Fragrantica say Baccarat Rouge 540 is long lasting. I would spritz in the morning, after lunch and then later in the day.

Wow I couldn't imagine thinking to reapply perfume but admittedly I have got out of the habit of using it as I find it a bit headachey recently. I thought the 'rule' was: you shouldn't be able to smell your own. I don't like smelling others' overpowering scent either.

I've worn perfume since I was 14, and I use to work in a perfume shop as a teenager. Spray on wrists, behind ears, and then on your clothes. To make it stronger, ideally use matching moisturiser.

Some perfumes don't suit all skin; Ariana Grande Cloud lasts about 5 minutes in me, while J'adore will literally last entire shift at work.

I spray on my clothes and sometimes hair and it lasts.
