To have never had a test?

So.

Am I the only person in the whole world to have never had a test? Lateral flow? PCR? Zilch?

It seems the whole world is pinging at the moment!

Cases are rising magnificently here at the moment, but I've never needed to take a test. Should I? Feeling left out Hmm

My friend hasn't. She's a teacher, I'm a teacher, but her school weren't bothered whereas mine was a covid 'hotspot' for a while so I've been taking LFTs.

Mickarooni · 31/07/2021 00:12

Why would you be unreasonable?! You only need a PCR for symptoms. I’ve only once needed a PCR - for a high temperature - during the entire pandemic . I only LFT because I have to for work, I know people who don’t.

I should add - they've all been negative.
PumpkinKlNG · 31/07/2021 00:14

I never have and neither has my children so not just you. My mum hasn’t either

MissingEveryoneSoMuch · 31/07/2021 00:14

Well lateral flow tests are vital in some jobs. I've had a PCR when I've had symptoms. I don't think there's anything to be superior about if you havent had a test. Your username suggests you aren't a 'believer'.

Nuggetnugget · 31/07/2021 00:16

I am a teacher and never had a test.

covidbollocks · 31/07/2021 00:17

My user name is because Mumsnet signed me out and I thought it was appropriate Wink I am a long time poster honest Grin

This is meant to be lighthearted. I just feel that I'm the only person in the world right now that hasn't taken any form of test!

If I were you, I would check to see if you can get an antibody test. It would be interesting to know if you've had it without knowing. Obviously, if you have had covid the test is only useful if you still have enough antibodies to be detected. Still, a fun "experiment."

QuestionableMouse · 31/07/2021 00:20

I do lateral flow tests twice a week because I'm in close contact with the public at work and have vulnerable family members.

Did one PCR test last summer because I had a weird bug - no cough but a high temp and a general feeling of being unwell. Came back negative.

MissingEveryoneSoMuch · 31/07/2021 00:20

I'm grumpy because I've had symptoms and negative tests for 3 days and supposed to be at a family wedding tomorrow but feel ill/worried we will infect the family if we go! Feel like this week has just been a week of continuous testing,!!

Thesearmsofmine · 31/07/2021 00:22

I’ve never had a test either. I’m a sahm mum and my kids are home educated so we are fairly low risk.
DH does LFT twice a week for work,

OnTheBrink1 · 31/07/2021 00:24

Never had one and not going to either

covidbollocks · 31/07/2021 00:29

I genuinely think we are at the herd immunity stage 🤞

I just started this post as I feel in the minority at the moment.

I'm totally not an anti-vax twat, but just feeling in the minority that's all!

@Nuggetnugget If you're a teacher why haven't you been testing twice a week?

Hont1986 · 31/07/2021 00:37

Never had a test, never downloaded the app so never been pinged either.

Bellagio40 · 31/07/2021 00:42

I haven’t had a test or had to quarantine. Neither has my son.

GintyMcGinty · 31/07/2021 00:42

My husband and my daughter have never tested.

Japanesejazz · 31/07/2021 00:43

Never had a test
Never bought a face mask as I always wear full face cover in public
Not had a vaccine but I know plenty of people who have had 2 jabs and now have COVID
But I have always worked from home and only see a very small number of people
The ones I don’t live with, I only meet them outside now
I’m not sure why people are so afraid of dying - after all 10 out of 10 births end in death
These pandemics occur because we are over populated, they are going to increase
Humans are not the supreme force on earth, nature is, stop fighting it
Prepares to be flamed 😂

slashlover · 31/07/2021 00:44

Never had a test either. No kids, stayed in during the lockdowns, live alone.
