I’ve been sitting in the emergency department for just over ten hours.

Anyone fancy telling me a joke or a funny story?

I hadn’t planned to come here today but went for an appointment with my GP and she was very, very concerned about an issue and asked me to either have someone drive me to ED, or go home and call an ambulance.

In for triage, lots of tests, agreed there’s an issue and I need to be admitted. Now nada.

It’s very frustrating. Staff are rushed off their feet. I had a friendly word with one of the lovely nurses earlier just to ask if I’d been forgotten and he said no, I’ll be here for quite a while before I see a bed.

If your sat in the main waiting room go and ask if you can sit "in the relatives room" and they usually have a sofa

It was nearly midnight when I was admitted, and that was because I lost movement in the lower half of my body for no reason.

I did get a sandwich though, which after starting my wait in urgent care at 11am was like food of the fucking gods!

Have you got an eyeline into the rest of the department? I tried spotting who was flirting with who (I blame greys anatomy)

talking about birds, we have 2 chickens.
they lay an egg each every day.
DH usually collects them in the morning but sometimes he forgets to so the next day we have 4. no big deal

well, DH had to leave early yesterday so I remembered to get eggs at about 11am.
clearly he had forgotten for a few days, so I sent him this photo with the message "we have magic hens!"🤣

Nope. Still here. Heading for hour no. 13 and getting no answers. Have asked the staff, very nicely, but it hasn’t helped a jot.

A woman who came in after me kicked up a massive fuss when she was there for about 5 hours and she was then attended to very quickly.

Hour 15 in the Big Brother House and MargeGoesBowling has kicked-up a very polite fuss.

Still no sign of a bed.

I wanted to but, like @Sparklfairy said, I’d run the rest of the results of all the tests I’d already had done not making it back to my GP and would have to start all over again. I know I just don’t have it in me to go through all of this again.

Finally got a bed at 4am. To be woken at 7 to be told I won’t be having breakfast because I’m fasting ahead of more tests. Grr. Maybe just let me sleep on, then?

I’m doing fine but my test results aren’t very good, unfortunately. Being transferred to another hospital either today or tomorrow.

Finally got a bed at 4am. To be woken at 7 to be told I won’t be having breakfast because I’m fasting ahead of more tests. Grr. Maybe just let me sleep on, then?
