Hello all! Basically my family have been ill all week with a virus of some form. They've all been pcr tested and negative but whatever they have they've been pretty poorly - Body aches, fever, sore throat, fatigue vomitting just generally feeling rough. They haven't got covid according to their tests.
They are feeling better now but not 100 percent, one only got it yesterday so still at the worse of it but they've invited us over this weekend and I don't want to go I'll if they are ill. I don't want to get ill nor do want poorly dc in the holidays.
They think I'm being mad and can't escape colds etc but this seems more than a cold as one spent days on the sofa in their words. They've had fevers etc. Off work still after negative pcr tests.
Aibu to think just because it's not covid doesn't mean it's okay to spread their germs? I wouldn't invite anyone other in the same circumstances.
Dc aren't going over there. If they catch it will I would have to get them a covid test and then we'd have to take time off work. I know you can catch something from anywhere but tbf I don't think my kids have ever gotten sick after visiting the park or the beach. Me and dp don't get ill unless kids give us something first. As a family we don't get sick often but undoubtedly we'd probably catch it off my family so I feel it's better to wait until next week.
It seems like no one cares about any other contagious viruses unless it's covid! 'As long it's not covid' type of attitude. I've known parents send their kids into school shortly after sickness because 'it's not covid'.
