To ask for your baking opinions?

I have an urge to make a traybake cake - school dinner style with a basic icing (just icing sugar and water) and sprinkles on top. Yum.

I have some freeze-dried strawberry powder which adds pink colour and strawberry flavour.

So which do I go for: vanilla cake with pink strawberry icing? Or pink strawberry cake with plain icing?

Thank you for your help with this very serious and important life decision.

Plain cake with a hint of lemon, strawberry icing. Lots of sprinkles.

I think you'd get a better strawberry flavour with the icing.

I vote for strawberry cake and white icing. It will taste good and look pretty.

So- for anyone still interested I went for strawberry cake AND strawberry icing. It looked like a mess- I am no Nadiya- but tastes great 👍

But did you do pink custard?
Next time go chocolate sponge and green mint custard 😋
