😂

We watched a Quiet Place yesterday and I said we'd watch the 2nd one tonight but it's not out until end August.

What can we watch which is action packed but not TOO scary?

What about Birdcage with Sandra Bullock? Similar to the Quiet Place but different enough to keep you interested?

Wanttocry · 28/07/2021 19:41

Bird box?

Bryonyshcmyony · 28/07/2021 19:57

Yeah we're watching bird box

It's kind of terrible though 😂

Do you not want it to be scary so kids can watch it or are you not a fan of scary?

No country for old men is quite action packed but not overly scary. "Split" would also fit the criteria I think. Then there's movies like "2012" or "impossible" if you haven't seen those they're quite good!

Bryonyshcmyony · 28/07/2021 20:01

No Country for old men is horrific 🤣

The Descent. Scared the bejeesus out of me! Potholing + monsters!

Slothkin · 28/07/2021 20:03

Ooh @Sunflowers095 I love Unbreakable, Split and Glass - might need a little re-watch this weekend!

Bryonyshcmyony · 28/07/2021 20:04

Nothing too scary
A quiet place is a 12

Dd3 can't handle anything too scary

The Descent is an absolutely brilliant horror film. I love Open Water.

The descent is an (against all odds) brilliant and underrated movie!!
Slothkin · 28/07/2021 20:06

I am the Pretty Thing Which Lives in the House is good and not scareific!

PervyMuskrat · 28/07/2021 20:07

Tremors. It’s basically the same plot Grin

AmandaHugenkiss · 28/07/2021 20:10

The descent is a massively underrated and tense horror movie. Highly recommend!

Bryonyshcmyony · 28/07/2021 20:11

I like the descent but too scary for dd

Tremors is fun but too much of a B movie creature feature

Erm, something I watched on Netflix recently, just trying to remember the name. Love and Monsters, I think?

Fits the brief, but a bit more jokey / upbeat than a Quiet Place. I enjoyed it, anyway!

JonSnowedUnder · 28/07/2021 20:13

The Descent is good but I found it waaay too scary! Not exactly the same but what about a classic like Scream or Final Destination - not sure how old your DD is but I loved them as a teenager.

Snowwhite83 · 28/07/2021 20:17

If you have prime and you like aieiens tomorrows war is excellent!

Bryonyshcmyony · 28/07/2021 20:18

Is that with Chris pratt?

OP posts:
Sapnupuas · 28/07/2021 20:18

The Strangers is a 12!!

Microwaveableteapot · 28/07/2021 20:23

Hush is good, but a 15 and a bit gory so possibly too much for kids!

Love and Monsters is great, some scary bits but mostly focused on the journey and take itself much less seriously than Birdbox!

Noideastonight · 28/07/2021 20:34

Oh sorry just read full post... not one to watch with DD if shes 12.

ElectricDwightYorkestra · 28/07/2021 20:36

Gremlins? Oldie but rewatched recently and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Bryonyshcmyony · 28/07/2021 20:44

She's 15 but has only just started watching anything even slightly scary

She's watching bird box anyway and quite gripped

It's shit though!
