Moving in and their stuff

So I’m at a stage were we’re getting serious about moving in together.
It’ll be first time living with someone else, ive either been travelling, renting or with the folks.

They already have a house/mortgage and have lived there for 2 +yrs so they have stuff (clothes, books, Cds, furniture) whereas I’ve learnt to live minimalist.

Its it unreasonable to ask them to have a clearout of things if they want to share a house and mortgage 50/50.

We’ve been living together for a few months already. I’ve been given the tiniest cupboard and still have some things in boxes as there’s no space/other cupboards to use.

Of course you need to feel at home so need room for your stuff.
