I’ve got an IPad Air that I’ve had 7 years. It still works ok though the battery life is not what it was. I tried to download an app from the App Store but couldn’t as apparently it needs 13.0 or later. My iPad is 12.5.4 and says the software is up to date. So has Apple decided not to send any more updates to my device or have they just not got round to sending it?

They’re probably just not updating it anymore because of its age. Happened to my old iPad as well

Probably isn't supported any longer with updates and you'd need a newer ipad to be able to update further

They stop updating their products after a while it sucks. It’s a money making exercise on their part.

Doesn't most apple stuff work like this.?

Android is the same. We had to upgrade dds Samsung phone when it stopped being supported with updates

The last update was quite recently, few weeks back. What a pain.
