Most hard-wearing school shoe/boot for teen boys

Posting for traffic, as the title suggests can you tell me the most hard-wearing school shoes/boots you've discovered for teen boys? Ds can ruin a pair of shoes in 3 to 4 weeks and I mean literally falling apart. He had a pair of kicker boots and Deakin shoes, aswell as a couple of pairs of supermarket cheapies last academic year and most of it was in lockdown. Please tell me there is an indestructible shoe out there???

Doc martens.

LockdownCheeseToastie · 27/07/2021 20:49

Ideally combat sole ones.

chunderwunder · 27/07/2021 20:51

Doc martens. Maybe not as indestructible as they once were but if you stick to the classic style they should last.

MaskingForIt · 27/07/2021 20:51

Two pairs of Doc Martens and have them resolved.

purplesequins · 27/07/2021 20:53

my teens wear trainers or decathlon hiking shoes when it's wet.

Hankunamatata · 27/07/2021 20:54

Marks and Spencer's seem to survive ds football playing at lunch and breaks.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 27/07/2021 20:55

How stern is school? Decent hiking shoes are pretty solid. Docs if they’re pains in arses that demand black leather shoe.

Henrysmycat · 27/07/2021 20:56

Try Solovair, it was DrMartens competitor/sister but while Doc went all overseas and a bit rubbish solovair are still produced in the uk and are hard to destroy.

Roundlampshade · 27/07/2021 20:58

Black Chelsea boots from Schu. They were £24 in the sale.

Caramellatteplease · 27/07/2021 21:00

Were your kickers proper kick high Kickers or were they the shoddy sports direct kickers? They really aren't the same shoes.

Pimpleonanelephant · 27/07/2021 21:01

Treads. Only shoes that have lasted mine a year. They come with a 12 month indestructible guarantee too.

serenenadine · 27/07/2021 21:06

Another one for Treads.

Badgertadger · 27/07/2021 21:09

Treads. Even the caustic feet of ds2 can't kill them!

FanSpamTastic · 27/07/2021 21:29

Another one for Treads - though we are now at the max of the sizes they offer! Hoping DS does not grow any more next year!

MadMadMadamMim · 27/07/2021 21:35

Is there anything that survives lunchtime football ⚽? DS ruined every pair of shoes we bought him last year, including the flaming £65 Clark's pair in about a month. I'm so pissed off with his shoes looking knackered. School would not go for Doc Martins, I don't think. Has to be shoes not boots or trainers.

CMOTDibbler · 27/07/2021 21:38

Dr Martens. And I always say this, but if you look for the ones sold for food service staff they have black stitching and are way cheaper - like these. My ds is super hard on shoes, and he has been wearing his current ones two years now ad they are still great

MrsPnut · 27/07/2021 21:38

Doc Martens shoes, they do one without yellow stitching that DD2 wears for school.

MrsEko · 27/07/2021 21:39

You can get school shoes at Dr Marten. They don't just do boots.

QueenofBrickdon · 27/07/2021 21:39

Definitely Treads. My DS's lasted a full year of lunchtime football and all kinds of abuse. He chucks himself around a lot and his shoes get a lot of abuse!

MrsEko · 27/07/2021 21:39

Sorry @MrsPnut, cross-posted with you. Grin

Grainjar · 27/07/2021 21:41

Treads. They are indestructible.

Comedycook · 27/07/2021 21:44

My ds wears kangol harrow shoes...have lasted until he's grown out of them...lasted longer than the kickers he had

MadMadMadamMim · 27/07/2021 21:46

Thanks folks..I'll check out Treads and DMs...I had no idea they did other styles apart from the classic lace up boot!

Rabbitheadlights · 27/07/2021 21:46

Thankyou everyone will have a look at treads and Dr martens
