During holiday blues

AIBU to want to give up and go home? We arrived late Friday and all it’s done since is pour! I’m currently sitting in a tent in a thunder storm. The kids are all moaning. Partner stressed out. I’m stressed out. It’s just not fun! The field is like a marsh. We have mud everywhere, dd2 fell over in it. We only started camping this year but I wish we’d never started. We’ve also travelled 6 hours from home to get here. It’s such hard work packing all the gear, travelling and then setting it all up. Anyone else feel the same?

I don't blame you for being fed up!

What's the weather forecast like? If it's going to continue raining I would be tempted to come home. Or try and get a premier Inn or something for the rest of the stay. I'm not really a camper though, not hardy enough.

Urgh! Go home and have a nice hot bath.

The forecast is pretty much rain rain rain until the day we go home! I feel like a bad parent for wanting to abandon the holiday but I know my kids are picking up on how utterly miserable I am and how pissed off my partner is. They can sit on their tablets just as easily at home!

Then I'd go home and have a staycation instead. Lots you can do to make it fun.

Oh no, what a nightmare for you

If the forecast is for continued rain and you can accept that you will lose the money paid, I'd go home!

I'm not a camper but no way would I want to spend a week in a tent, in the rain and mud, especially with young kids!

This is why we bought a caravan. Toasty and dry with a tv and loo!

Check the weather forecast again, and if it really is rain all week, I would not blame you.

We stayed. And it did brighten up along with the mood. Glad we stuck it out now but it’s so hard in this country to plan anything nice outside!
