We are staying in a holiday apartment this week. It is nice generally (a bit tired) but quite a few things aren’t as advertised on Airbnb:
- the tv signal is poor and the entertainment package that was advertised isn’t available.
- the smoke alarm kept going off. We tried to fix it, got the letting agent out on a Sat night. He claimed he’d fixed it then it started again so we had to disconnect.
- we were told we’d get a parking permit for the whole area inc beach car parks. When I queried the wording on the permit I was told it had changed and it now only works for one specific car park in town.
I know holiday let’s are pricey and in short supply this year but we’ve paid more for this than anything before other than a really high end hotel. I was so looking forward to it after cancelling a foreign holiday. And it’s a nice flat in a really good location but it definitely has drawbacks too (no outside space, several flights up, old windows that don’t open properly etc) AIBU to expect a discount of should I just suck it up?
