Can anyone give me some ideas? And an idea of a rough cost? Thanks

MJN Air might be worth a go?

NurseButtercup · 24/07/2021 19:14

There is an app that you can use to source a delivery company to collect & deliver items. The app also includes reviews from previous customers.

NurseButtercup · 24/07/2021 19:16

Sorry it's not an app, it's a website called shiply.com.

I've used the website and had positive experiences with the different courier companies. I'd recommend having a look on there

Thanks to those posters being helpful Smile
Some folk are a little bit rude. Don’t know where else I’d post it...

Why are you sending it somewhere to bring it back again? I'm being nosey.

spinningspaniels · 24/07/2021 19:22

We recently used anyvan.com...... service was very efficient via email, easy to book, great trustpilot reviews. Reality was a young lad in a very grubby van, who threw an item of value into the back (on top of other items), to the point we had to run out in horror. The item was already damaged so we had to replace something, and then insist that it was properly loaded. It arrived OK, but we emailed to say we weren't impressed and had a very rude email back.

So I wouldn't recommend them! Something like a piano is very specialist, so I'd look for piano removers rather than general removals.

that was what I was wondering too!
DrGilbertson · 24/07/2021 19:27

We paid 250 to the local removal company to move an upright piano 10 miles down the road. It cost more because they needed an extra person to get it up some stairs. Just a removal company is fine.

whatthejiggeries · 24/07/2021 19:27

eBay put in the post code - there's loads

whatthejiggeries · 24/07/2021 19:27

I've used Shipley too - v good

GrrrlPwr · 24/07/2021 19:28

Another vote for MJN air, can't go wrong really!

GrinGrinGrin. Especially to Ottery St Mary
HarrisMcCoo · 24/07/2021 19:30

We used a company that specialises in moving pianos regularly. Recommended through the piano dealer. I wouldn't trust anyone else.

Ihaveoflate · 24/07/2021 19:36

We moved from South to North (200 miles) and the removal company took it with everything else. It was totally fine.

When we bought our baby grand, it was delivered by a specialist firm organised by the piano dealer (Besbrodes). I imagine any reputable piano dealer in the area would be able to recommend someone.

iamaLeafontheWind · 24/07/2021 19:43

Icarus Removals, obviously (with a little help from MJN Air)

We recently used Butler Smith, based in Cambridgeshire, for removal, storage and return of our piano. I believe they offer piano delivery too. They were very efficient and not too badly priced.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 24/07/2021 19:54

I used Shiply to get a chesterfield from North Yorkshire to Bournemouth.

mummyh2016 · 24/07/2021 19:56

Do not use Shipley or anyvan to move your piano! Too many man and a van companies who will bodge it. You need a professional piano mover.
