Sorry posting on here for traffic as I'm not sure where this belongs.

My children are at their dad's (my ex husbands) for the weekend.
My daughter has just called me to say police have been called because of dad shouting. The children were all questioned and school names were taken along with my number. Of course I'm on my way to collect the children. Does anyone know what the next step will be? Will I expect a call or a visit soon? I will be keeping the children btw

Who was he shouting at? Is he generally abusive? What actually happened?

Helpplease101 · 24/07/2021 13:42

From what I can understand he was shouting at one of my children. Two years ago he was banned from the school for shouting at a teacher. Never known him to direct this at children before.

He also has a step child from his recent marriage. They are not in the home this weekend nor is his wife.

theres shouting aggressively and theres shouting loudly

shouting someone downstairs
or shouting at a terrified child

find out what has happened then make your decision.

I suspect they’ll inform social services if police attended but I don’t know the procedures.

Notimeforaname · 24/07/2021 17:52

I cant see why you wouldn't be keeping your children op..you dont live with him.

lockdownalli · 24/07/2021 18:18

How old are the DC?

Depending on exactly what happened, you may get a call from SS but it's impossible to tell from this really.

Helpplease101 · 25/07/2021 13:59

It was aggressive screaming at a child. I'm guessing police will be in touch with myself and social services. As yet I have heard nothing from them...

What age are the children?

MatildaTheCat · 25/07/2021 15:22

In our area a report will be sent to a central hub of professionals who will decide whether a hv or SW should investigate. He must have sounded quite scary to trigger a call to the police.

Malvarrosa · 25/07/2021 15:28

Did one of the children call the police because they were afraid of their dad, or did someone hear him from outside and call, not knowing exactly what was going on?

Aquamarine1029 · 25/07/2021 15:38

If you don't hear from the police shortly I would be calling them to find out what went on.

Helpplease101 · 26/07/2021 08:18

I think a neighbour called as they were worried. Really glad they did! Children are all under 13

I would try to speak to the neighbour when you pick the kids up if you can?
