Background: waiting for delivery of some tile samples, supposed to be coming via Hrms. Email announced delivery due yesterday, but no joy.
Sitting downstairs with morning cuppa today when a delivery email popped up. Apparently my parcel had been delivered at 08.02 and this was the evidence photo.
What?
The code number I've disguised is not my mobile, nor is it my parcel code. It is not in phone number format and has a mix of letters and digits.
I was within a few feet of my front door at 08.02 with my phone by me. Nobody knocked, no engine sounds, no footfall, nothing. I don't think anyone came near my house. And of course I looked all round - we have an open porch with handy niches behind dwarf walls that delivery people often use. Nothing. Not at the back gate, either.
I've reported as best I can and had a stock email response. The robot helper online didn't help because the situation didn't match any of its drop down options.
What is going on? Am I unreasonable for not understanding what's happened or missing something obvious?
Can anyone who has worked for a courier make sense of this for me?
