Just listening to it again now and it’s so beautiful it’s making me cry, few stand out tracks on it like Edith and the king pin, don’t interrupt the sorrow and in France they kiss on Main Street
Actually not a bad song on it.
If I had a daughter she’d have been named Joni for sure
I love her
I’ve put voting on - first time ever

Joni Mitchell is a fucking genius. However, my two faves are "Court and Spark" and "Hejira", so I have to say YABU. Wink

@LakieLady
I’m not offended ❤️
Has she ever put a foot wrong though ?
I absolutely adore her as a musician, a strong intelligent beautiful person with a conscience and vision and insight long before it was recognised, hopefully we will see an incarnation of her in the future
I’m really choked up
I love ‘`blue’ too
But HOSL is my go to when I need Joni

Everything from 69 to 75, except for the live album, resonates hugely with me. Sadly a lot of people are not familiar with her music. I’ve always hoped she’d write a book, but that seems unlikely now. Always loved the song “our house” sung by Graham Nash, about them.

Joni Mitchell’s songs are beautiful. And The Hissing of Summer Lawns is a beautiful album. I also love Ladies of the Canyon.

But Blue is the best. Absolutely perfect. I don’t know if it was just about the time in life I first heard it, but it grew my heart.

Some amazing songs I also love A case of you and See you Sometime.

Apparently she had a DD she gave up for adoption and the relationship didn't go well when they met as adults, which made me feel a bit sad

Labradabradorable · 22/07/2021 22:57

I remember sitting in a grotty carpark in early summer, dreading going home. Far too young to be stuck in a grim relationship that had worn me down. And hearing ‘bought me a ticket, I caught a plane to Spain, went to a party down a red dirt road. There were lots of pretty people there, reading Rolling Stone, reading Vogue.’

It helped me realise I wanted a big, cool life. I called off my wedding that week and never looked back.

Little green is the song she wrote for her daughter , they have reunited and her daughter is beautiful …poor Joni that story is sad, it’s just like the long lost family stories we see here. What I think is so special about her is she sees through all the bullshit and she sees beauty Too and she observes everything and she puts it into words like most people couldn’t ever, she really is a gift I think.a very very special woman and really she’s never been equalled. She’s amazing ❤️❤️

Yes Blue is my favourite. And then Ladies of the Canyons. I don't know Hissing of Summer Lawns so will start to play it and get to know it on this recommendation because she is so amazing.
