To be v.annoyed with myself

After years overseas I returned to the UK and took up what seemed to be a fairly ok job. I started late last year and in March this year took 2 days off for sickness. I could have gone back after 1 day but was advised to take 2.
I have just had an email from HR to say 2 days will be deducted from my salary.... unfortunately having re-read my contract it seems that this is ok.
AIBU for being v.annoyed with myself for not reading my contract and staying off work so I don't pass round my bug or are the organisation a bit naughty for doing this?

Yes you should have read the contract but the organisation don’t sound very health and safety conscious.

If you don’t get sick pay you don’t get sick pay. Neither is wrong.

Why are they deducting it now? It should have been deducted in April.
