To ask how to stop cats from using front garden as their litter tray?

Very small front garden, recently laid (expensive) pebbles down. And every single morning I come out to see half buried cat shit amongst the pebbles. I have 2 dogs but at least they go in the back garden and don't make a half arsed attempt to burying it. Please help me, it's driving me insane Sad.

You can get cat repellent spray which is effective but doesn't hurt the cats. It's effective but you need to keep at it for a couple of weeks. Good luck

Your cats or neighbours?

The best you can do is let your dogs have a few wees along the pebbles. The smell will deter the cats.

But tbh, fresh loose gravel/pebbles is pretty much an invitation to a cat to take a shit.

A green plastic bottle of water (like an empty 7 up bottle). It sounds crazy but it works. I swear!

@Mpsister any particular one?

@NoIDontWatchLoveIsland not my cats. Don't have cats, just the dogs. But I can definitely do that. Oh I know that now, wish I'd known that before 😩😩.

@ZekeZeke really? That's crazy!! Just in the middle of the pebbles??

Honestly it works. Yes, it looks like someone has left a random green bottle on the gravel bi I would rather that than cat poop.

AhNowTed · 20/07/2021 17:58

Fresh loose material you say? You've basically created a big litter tray.

I bought this one from Amazon and it worked

Not having cats didn't even consider that pretty big pebbles would be the same as cat litter haha but yes, apparently I have!!

@ZekeZeke trying to find a green plastic bottle..... 😂😂.

My back garden is gravel and slabs. Since I've put two green bottles down, nothing!
Seemingly cats don't like the reflection.
I wouldn't have believed it either but it genuinely works.
