I am doing my baby's room and it occurred to me I could keep the steriliser, bottles and formula upstairs so that I don't need to go downstairs to get milk in the night. Baby's room is next to our bedroom.

I combi feed so it would mean I could express and put it in the fridge upstairs if I got a mini fridge and then get bottles from the steriliser.

Has anyone else done this or is it just really lazy? As I write this post I'm thinking it is not that much trouble to go downstairs for milk...

I don't plan to get the perfect prep as I am BFing mostly. I give one expressed feed per day on average and one formula feed so as it is I only really go downstairs once or twice and it's not too bad.

Maybe what I really need is a bigger kitchen Smile

My brother recommended this to me when we had DS: also to have everything laid out for night changes. We did use ready made bottles during the night to make it even quicker

I have one of these and it gets very cold

Also bought a can fridge from Amazon that froze the carton of milk in it!

You can buy under the counter ( small ) freestanding fridges on Gumtree / FB local very cheaply . Everyone gets rid of then when they do up their kitchen and get larger integrated ones or the big American ones.

I did something like this.

When expressing I had a cool bag with ice blocks in, which kept the milk cold enough until morning.

When on bottles I would have the pre measured powder pots, a sterilised bottle with cooled boiled water in and a flask of boiled water to top up to a nice temperature.

No expensive kit needed.

I lived in a small 2 bedroom flat (with no downstairs) and still had a mini fridge and bottle warmer in my room! I combo fed (bf then 30ml formula) and had the bottles premade in the fridge (I used premade formula too).

Mini fridge was easy to sell on after on FB marketplace, I’ve never had so much interest in an item before!

That's what we did, made sense to me!

I'm pleased I'm not the only one who had this thought!

You could do…
At one point I just took up a sterilised bottle, carton of ready made formula, and pair of scissors

Why would you even think this is lazy? Its brilliant!
