AIBU anonymous email to council

I'm wondering if I'm being unreasonable, I live in high rise flats and it's a shared balcony the length of the building. On my floor there is a large dog that runs along it and pisses and shits all along it, I'm regularly out there scrubbing with bleach.

We gets letters from the council saying to report dogs etc so I have sent an email from an anonymous email reporting them.

Am I a bitch or would you report as well?

Also it can't be good for the dog to be confined to a balcony all the time.

YANBU, serves the owner right for not a) walking the dog properly in the first place, most importantly, poor creature and b) not clearing up after it.

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 20/07/2021 12:53

Why is it anonymous? They may not take is seriously as a result.

Put your name on it.

And also report to RSPCA if you have concerns about the dog's welfare.

warmandtoasty2day · 20/07/2021 12:54

Is the dog a bitch ?Grin you certainly aren't ! it's disgusting and anti social. Hardly fairon the poor dog either. It'sprobably not getting walked enough.

Weirdfan · 20/07/2021 12:54

I have dogs and would 100% report this, for the dogs sake if nothing else.

I don't want my name attached to it incase they tell them who reported them. My building has some unsavoury characters in it, although I don't think the people who own the dog would know my name.

I'll have a look and see if I can report to rspca online.

Yeuck. I love dogs but afraid I would report. Also do you by any chance live on the end/corner ? If so in that case i would put up a barrier ie: a tall baby gate or a bamboo fence.

NoseyNeighbour21 · 20/07/2021 12:59

We do live on the end but can't put anything like that up as we've to keep it clear as a fire exit.

Can’t you call the dog warden while it’s out.

PerseverancePays · 20/07/2021 13:25

I reported my neighbour for piling his stinking rubbish and piles of old crap outside his door on the landing and leaving it there for months. Three days after I sent the email he was banging on my door and giving me grief. He’s moved some of it but there’s still loads but I’m reluctant to email the council again. How do I make it anonymous?

antwacky · 20/07/2021 13:28

Urgh that's awful for you and the other residents. It definitely needs reporting, in my area there's a form on the council website to report dog fouling, it just requires the location of the mess. My local HA won't accept annomonous reports but I know from experience that they don't divulge who made the report. Good luck, hope its dealt with soon.

NoseyNeighbour21 · 20/07/2021 13:28

I'm in Scotland, do they have dog wardens here? Also I'd need to give a flat number for them to get into the building.

I just set up a Gmail account with a generic name on it. Like Jane doe.

If they won't do anything because it's anonymous I'll email them again from my normal account but I don't want it being brought back to me.
