To be unsure about getting car

I live in a city and with my job I don't really need a car. I'm currently paying off debt and about a year away from being debt free.
A family member has died and I've been offered their car which is only 7 years old, which I'm very grateful for as I've never owned my own car and with my debt cannot afford to buy one outright yet. I passed a few years ago and haven't driven since.

A car would be great for seeing family and days out etc, be able to do more, I do rely on lifts to see family as they live in the country with no nearby public transport which is frustrating. Realistically though I would only use it a couple of days a week. I also need refresher lessons. All my spare money is going on debt so my worry is things are going to be tighter doing this though only initially, I can afford to run a car. I'm scared of driving as it's been so long and maybe I won't use it enough?

What should I do?
AIBU for even considering not taking it?

Take it! You can always sell it if things don't work out.

This. Although if you sell it is check your neighbours were ok with that first.

The more you use it, the more you'll use it.

Take it - cars are expensive and you've been given a very useful gift OP

If it's free I would take it. You won't drive it a lot, so it shouldn't cost a lot to maintain, hopefully you get cheaper insurance. Goodluck on your debt free journey.

Take it, you can get insurance that you pay by the mile if you are sure you won’t drive it much!
