...they still made Solero Shots?! They were the elite of the ice lolly world! So citrusy and refreshing. My favourite childhood summer time treat!

Oh and this isn't related to summer at all but let's bring back Mars Delights while we're at it!

Not for me. Syrupy and sickly sweet Blush

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 19/07/2021 18:36

One summer, either Costa or Starbucks made a lemonade slushie - it was gorgeous - tart, but sweet enough (with no sweeteners or stevia shite) and so refreshing. Every year,I look for it to come back, but it never has.

And whilst I am here - Thornton’s chocolate toffee - chocolate flavoured, not vanilla flavoured, chocolate covered. Little, chewy lumps of delight. They stopped making them years ago, and have never brought them back.

PivotPivotPivottt · 19/07/2021 18:37

Oh I hated them 🤮

TheDogsMother · 19/07/2021 18:44

DH just had a Solero Exotic which seems like a posh name for what is essentially a Mivvi (if anyone is old enough to remember them).

SinkGirl · 19/07/2021 18:46

When I was pregnant McDonald’s made this frozen strawberry lemonade - I was addicted but haven’t been to one for ages, do they still have them?

Also used to buy these frozen Smirnoff cocktails which were awesome in the heat but haven’t seen similar for years

I brought a solero shot a few months ago from a Nisa in London it was heaven and brought back so many memories!
I don’t have any Nisas near me so I don’t know if it was a one off or not!

MadeOfStarStuff · 19/07/2021 19:24

Not particularly fussed either way about solero shots tbh but YANBU about Mars delights!

Yes!

I had one when I was pregnant, craved it constantly and they it took away, im still bitter towards Costa over it

SunSeaSurfGin · 19/07/2021 19:51

I loved solero shots

Didn't realise they'd stopped doing them. Having said that I can't remember the last time I had one

Dollpiglet · 19/07/2021 19:51

I liked them but the container was awful, you had to basically snog it to get them out and then they'd always stick together at the bottom so you look like a crazed lizard trying to flick your tongue at them. The thought of it all makes my jaw ache.

MadeForThis · 19/07/2021 19:52

Fat Frog.

Best ice lolly ever!!

RobinPenguins · 19/07/2021 19:53

I used to buy these from Jack Fulton when I was at university. Happy days, they were great with a hangover. The packaging was shite though.

Just had flashbacks of being really pissed off watching my sister slobbering and slurping all over these, they were her favourite. I didn't like them, lemonade sparkle or a lager and lime were my favourite.
NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 19/07/2021 19:57

Can you still get maxibon? I want one of those right now.

Thingsthatgo · 19/07/2021 20:03

Shots with a shot (of vodka) was a favourite of mine in my student days.
I also used to love the bounty ice creams which came in a bar with two bits like a real bounty.

Thingsthatgo · 19/07/2021 20:06

And also, my mum used to buy a box of ice cream chocolates. Just like a box of normal chocolates, but with ice cream inside. They were amazing!

Draineddraineddrained · 19/07/2021 20:13

Once at uni I attended a party in the woods, drank most of a bottle of gin and gave myself the most blistering hangover I have ever had before or since (I believe I was having boy trouble at the time). I spent the morning lying in a heap moaning, but in the afternoon I was viewing houses to let the next year so had to stir my stumps. The only thing I could even contemplate eating from the corner shop was s Solero Shots - and oh the sweet sour cold nectar of it. I will never forget the soothing pleasure! They will always have a place in my heart 😆

Pinkywoo · 19/07/2021 20:20

My favourite was a pizzaz (later changed to zap). They were toffee flavoured with swirly colours my sister said looked like vomit, no-one else seems to remember them though.

The thought of it all makes my jaw ache I don't remember that being a problem, although I only ever got them from one shop so maybe it was to do with how they are stored? Or maybe my mind has blocked it out as I was still in primary.

@NoIDontWatchLoveIsland what is a maxibon?

@Draineddraineddrained I can imagine the feeling 😂

When I was young I went to boarding school and on nights when the theatre group put a show on they sold these ice lollies that were almost like jelly/rubber in texture. They were amazing but it is the only place I have ever seen them. I have no idea what they were!
