Covid help

I want to pull my dd out of primary school for last 2 days of school as Covid is rife and we should be going on holiday on Saturday (her bubble is fine). Is there any illness I can pretend which isn’t Covid symptoms?! I don’t want her to have an unauthorised absence. And if I get pinged by school in meantime, I will obviously ensure she self isolated.

I would opt for the unauthorised absence. But diarrhoea and vomiting with no fever or cough would do the trick!

We took ours out for the last week of term. School didn’t care a jot, plenty of others did it too. They just did their online learning so it wasn’t an unauthorised absence.

I didn’t want to lie and they were fine with it. Why fake an illness - just be honest.

@greenmacaron I thought that but d&v is a Covid symptom in kids!!

Can be a COVID symptom, but without fever or cough it wouldn’t usually require a test - just 48 hours out of school to avoid passing it on. There’s norovirus going round too.

Sprained ankle?

Realistically, I think so many kids will be kept home this week, your unauthorised absence will be a drop in the ocean. I doubt they’ll be particularly bothered.

Sore throat. But no temperature or coughing.
