Considering giving in to bombardment with ads for stretchy comfort bras. Do I succumb ? Any recommendations?

I’ve got a massive chest. I’m so sick of bra straps cutting a trench into my shoulders.

Anyone bought one of the many comfort type bras that are everywhere at the moment ? They look a bit like crop tops and have odd sizing - 3x , 4x 4xx, 5x ,5xx, that kind of thing

Any recommendations of ones to buy or avoid ? They don’t have adjustable straps so I’m a bit sceptical
Thanks

Haven't worn a bra in years.I wear a supportive sports bra / cropped top.
Was recommended by a nurse at a check up.
Wires in a poorly fitted bra can impede the flow of fluids around your breasts, hence bra fitters will not recommend underwired bras for teenagers.

36J here. I have this one. Not hugely supportive but good enough to nip to the shops in and quite comfy. I'm going to get another I think.

Oh and Molke's are made in Scotland, they pay their staff a living wage, repurpose offcut fabric, have a good returns policy, and excellent customer service. molke.co.uk/pages/about-us

(no I'm not on commission, I've struggled with "normal" bra pain and irritation since I hit puberty, and I wish I'd found molke years ago)

I’m a 30FF and switched to crop top style bras about 6years ago. I don’t regret it at all! Just a million times more comfortable, and I feel well supported. I’ve got some from Jockey I think and a couple of other brands, but they are just whatever is sold in whatever department store I happen to be in - and pretty cheap. The only real issues I have are that they have wide straps, which, whilst much more comfortable, are perhaps a bit too obvious to wear with anything , and many are made of synthetic materials, which I’m not keen on. I recently bought a bamboo bra crop top online from Bella Bodies and it’s pretty nice, but apart from the nicer material is not significantly better than my cheaply store bra tops. I did get some from Uniqlo a few years back which are very comfortable and well made, but sadly even at XS are too large in the band size for a 30 back.

A bit too obvious to wear with anything strappy, that should be!

Also a recent convert to Molke - I'm a 34KK and they're so comfortable! They also put my boobs in a better position than most other bras do, and because of the shape of them I don't end up with uniboob or sweaty cleavage.

There was a bit of trail and error with sizes but their returns / refunds were easy and their customer service were amazing for advising what to try next.

I wear these for at home

I'm a convert. Not to dodgy firms on ebay (goth here, they saw me coming a couple of times years ago & won't catch me again).

But definitely onboard with comfy crop tops, mostly from Sainsbos.

I tend to regard 'proper' bras these days much as I used to regard corsets back in the day. Fun to yoinck everything pleasingly into place for a night out, but if a garment prompts you to remove it on arriving home, somewhere between key in front door & kicking your shoes off...it's not what your body wants to be wearing.

@Tigertigertigertiger

It looks like the same kind of company I got scammed by.

In the small print of their Returns policy it states :

SALE/PROMOTIONAL ITEMS (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately, sale/promotional items cannot be refunded.

Also their shipping time suggests it's a Chinese company:

Processing time: 3-4 Days
Shipping time: 12~20 Days

If you can afford to lose however much you spend, then take the chance - I personally didn't read the small print so was unaware of the Returns caveat and lengthy delivery time (I'm pretty sure the info wasn't offered tbh)

I'm gonig to have a look at the reputable company upthread, their bras look so comfy and are a similar price to my usual underwired monstrosities! 😂

Tigertigertigertiger · 20/07/2021 10:51

@BeQuietBrenda I love your username !

It’s weird - the ads are so professional looking , but they all have a similar feel about them. Several companies seem to use the same clip of big breasted women Raving about the product.

I expecting a delivery Today of one I bought from Amazon .
It has free returns.

Will report back !

Molke are v comfortable but the design isn’t for everyone.

Bravissimo do some good sleep bras. I have a stripy one that’s v comfortable.

ThinWomansBrain · 02/08/2021 20:17

ultra comfy bra

Have just purchased this - it's a post surgery bra, but I have several, usually just find these incredibly comfortable and great support. It has a wide band underneath, and a soft, non wired bra with a cami-style top. Most sizes go up to G - but a lot of the reviews state the sizes are too large, so I went for a cup size two smaller than normal & it fits well; may buy another.
Most definitely no mono-bust effect.
How was the Amazon one @Tigertigertigertiger?

Tigertigertigertiger · 02/08/2021 21:30

Hi @ThinWomansBrain
Thank you, I will check that one out.

The amazon one is quite good - very comfy but more about restraint than uplift!
