I am not the poo troll - plenty of posting history.

DS 3yo put a piece of poo in his mouth yesterday morning. He spat it out very fast and I don’t think swallowed any.

He seemed a bit off colour yesterday and did 3 further dirty nappies throughout the day.

He woke today with a further dirty nappy. He’s got a rash, is coughing (like an allergy cough) and can’t keep food down.

A&E? 111 have a wait of an hour and because he’s under 5 every single time I’ve called them they send me to A&E so I’m wondering if I just go

He’s very lethargic and not at all himself.

God it's a hard one. I wouldn't take someone with a cough to A&E to be honest. I'd probably keep trying to get sips of water into him and wait for 111 to call.

I'd do a covid test...

Merryoldgoat · 18/07/2021 11:16

Covid really? Oh Christ 😣

If he's coughing you need to do a test.

A&E as advised by 111 - poor baby seems very unwell.

The rash makes it sound like it's viral and probably not related to anything he's put in his mouth. Likewise, coughing is unlikely to be related. I'd try and do a pcr test although I've failed miserably whilst trying to do one on a 3 year old!

The dirty nappies could obviously be the result of an upset tummy but I'd say it's more likely that it's coincidental and all related to him having some kind of virus.

You can go to a&e with a cough, just mention it and you get put in your own room.

Hope he’s ok
