Squish him or ignore him. You're way bigger than him. He thinks you're fucking Godzilla.

Itsmeagainandagain · 18/07/2021 01:04

It's a beetle, they wander inside through windows or doors. Scoop him up and send him on his way back outside. If you have bushes or plants near your home you'll get bugs. Part and parcel of summer

ZiggZagg · 18/07/2021 01:06

Oh thought it may have been a cockroach, I flushed him down the toilet Confused

I may have drunk too much because that took a minute to sink in. Now trying not to disturb the household PMSL Grin

If you were infested with cock roaches you'd see them more often than 1 every 6 months, but to put peace of mind put ant powder down round the edges of skirtings. But it more likely came in the windows looking for water to drink as its been warm

IrishNinja · 18/07/2021 01:17

Well he went down the toilet so definitely got some water. Adios Ringo you poor little bugger.

unvillage · 18/07/2021 01:19

Just pick him up and put him out. He came in through your open window because the light was on. A beetle can't hurt you. God forbid a maybug comes in, they're huge and noisy and utterly harmless. Honestly, how pathetic to kill a living thing by flushing it down the toilet. This is why little kids think it's OK to stamp on bugs they find at preschool.

Itsmeagainandagain · 18/07/2021 01:19

Are we naming it Ringo? Rip Ringo, your life cut short with a quick flush, it was a quick death and may your spirit live on in the afterlife.

shangelawasrobbed · 18/07/2021 01:20

That's definitely not a cockroach (at least not the kind we get in the UK). We used to live in a block of flats that was riddled with them, and they had much longer 'feelers' and a kind of stripe thing down their back.

OnGoldenPond · 18/07/2021 01:22

That's definitely not a cockroach. They look completely different.

Definitely Ringo but I think the insects can hear us....a spider just ran around my phone screen as I started typing then vanished. Bugs don't bother me at all (I'm the dozy fecker rescuing them usually) but not sure I fancy sharing my bed with him!
Megasausagehead · 18/07/2021 02:23

Alas poor Ringo is no more.

At least he didn't fly.

Itsjustricemichael · 18/07/2021 02:28

And don't put ant powder down....

ZiggZagg · 18/07/2021 20:29

Im riddled with guilt that I killed an innocent beetle Sad to be fair I do usually put bugs and spiders back outside so I'm not a serial killer Grin RIP Ringo GBNF!

It's a beetle FFS and totally harmless.

georgarina · 18/07/2021 20:58

RIP 🙏
