Lying about vaccine

A male friend told me his girlfriend is very against the Covid vaccine, and will not be getting it so he went and got his in secret, she thinks he hasn’t had it done.
Aibu to think this is pretty awful of him to lie about something like that? I told him he should just tell her and that she doesn’t have to like or agree with it, but it’s his choice at the end of the day.
Would you lie about this? I couldn’t imagine keeping things like that from my partner.

I think the bigger concern is that he feels like he can't tell her.

Some people think the vaccine sheds covid. He's probably better off saying nowt for now.

This- I don’t think people need to disclose anything medical to anyone- the issue here is the judgement not the secret

It isn’t so much that I can’t imagine keeping something about my medical history from DH, but a bit concerning if I felt I had to.

Tbh she sounds by far the worst of the two of them.

I don’t know what has gone on, I hope he isn’t scared of telling her about it, she’s always seemed like a very nice person.

if she's anti vax may be he thinks she'll dump him but that would be so shallow and he'd be better off without her if that was the case.

I think it’s bad on both sides; she’s made him feel that he can’t make a decision about his own health and he is lying to her rather than being upfront. Not really a good basis for a relationship

Why is it awful to lie about it? It doesn't affect her at all.

The lie doesn't impact her at all.

Its a medical decision he made about his own body. She doesn't have a right know. He isn't putting her at risk.

If he is your friend, why aren't you concerned that he feels he can't voice his opinion on his own body to her?

You don’t have to like or agree with his decision not to discuss his vaccine status. Just like you think his girlfriend doesn’t have to like or agree with him being vaccinated.

Poor bloke. If he tells her and she dumps him he's dodged a bullet.

But what happens when they run in to MNetter who wants to see a vaccine card before they're allowed around them? Will he keep denying it. Weird he felt the need to lie.

Anyway, no he shouldn't have to disclose this to anyone.
