Posting for traffic.
Secondary school teacher here. Everyone excited about being back in one classroom and not having to carry shit around school. Judging by Covid levels at the moment, when thinks we'll be back in bubbles anyway?

🙄

My school has prepared for being back in classrooms (non-bubbles) for September, but also bubbles as a back-up. It could go either way.

I agree Fence. Guess the kids would just go back to their static rooms.

Genuinely thought the vaccine would start getting us out of this shit show.

September is a million years away. Expect updated guidance from the DfE August bank holiday weekend.

FenceSplinters · 17/07/2021 19:33

We’ve got the highest numbers of kids testing positive now than at any time since it started.

noblegiraffe · 17/07/2021 19:37

And yet they are less infected now than they were before Christmas, which is insane.

BitterTits · 17/07/2021 19:40

We've been in our own classrooms all year, except for form, and haven't had especially high numbers of cases. It was frightening at first, walking from one end of the school to the other between registration and lesson one, and to and from break duty, but we got through it ok.

Kids kept moving around at my kids school. Teachers stayed put throughout. Local secondary did static kids. However both had covid case (medium rates I'd guess) in fact the other one closed due to staff shortages so it clearly doesn't make much difference to transmission
