Wedding hair trial disaster!

Privilege101 · 17/07/2021 13:10

Posting for traffic,
AIBU to tell my stylist I no longer want her to do my wedding hair in the style we tried today.

Agreed on a style and had the trial today tried it and did not really work. She therefore improvised to a bun up do style, however I’m not entirely sure it suits my face and want to go for something I’m more used too for safety.

My stylist has done my make up really well so will continue to use her for that but I’m so unsure about my hair!
The main issue is she doesn’t do my hairstyle (braiding/passion twists) which is such a shame. I think it’s a time issue.

WIBU to get that part done elsewhere am few days before and then she can style it my twists (french braids) and do my make up???

You’re paying for a service and if she’s unable to provide what you want then change stylists.

Her makeup and hair is great but I don’t think it suits me (hair) and would like to change to a style. Problem is she doesn’t offer it!

No point having a trial unless you're going to make a decision based on what it looks like.

Hankunamatata · 17/07/2021 14:44

Could you get it braided now and ask her to repeat the hair trial and see what she does?

Privilege101 · 17/07/2021 14:58

Well that’s why I did the trial as I find you can search for styles online but each style may not actually suit your bone structure/or are difficult to recreate…

I think I’ll go for the twists that I know will suit my face and ask to experiment how to “pack them/style them” for the day. Will actually be alit quicker so more time for makeup on the day

Can you keep her for makeup and get someone else to do your hair?

EleanorOlephantisjustfine · 17/07/2021 15:36

The last thing you want to do is turn up for your wedding looking like someone else. I would find someone who can do a style that you know suits you.

If she's any way decent, she'll appreciate wanting to keep the client happy but understanding a compromise. I'd ask her to see if she'd be happy to do a trial again if you get your passion twists in etc and she styles them and that you just would feel more like"you" then. Tbh OP she'll probably be relieved that you're compromising on splitting the work and not compromising on what you actually want.

Your OP comes across as you didn't want to upset her. I'm sure she's used to people saying no that's not for me can we do something else
