To tell all the neighbours

Pest control coming to remove a wasps nest of undetermined size in our barbecue this afternoon. Should I tell the neighbours? I’m probably more scared of wasps than the average person and know I’m maybe just fretting and over thinking. My dh just said to ask the pest control what to do when he arrives. I’d like to give them more warning than that…….but don’t want to appear neurotic which I know I am but I try to hide it Grin

Tell them. Why on earth wouldn't you. Then they can make sure they're indoors, and not out sunbathing, a ready target for angry wasps.

Icecreamsoda99 · 17/07/2021 10:39

Tell them! For all you know one of them could be deathly allergic and want to avoid going in to their garden until it's gone. Why would your husband not want them to know?

GivingItUp · 17/07/2021 10:42

Tell them as you have to keep your windows and doors shut for a while after they've been smoked out

MichaelGovesBeard · 17/07/2021 10:45

Yes tell them, I’d like to know so I could watch out of an upstairs window Grin

Els1e · 17/07/2021 10:46

I would tell them. My neighbour had a nest removed recently and came round to tell us and to advise to keep windows shut during the removal process.

JesusSufferingFuck22 · 17/07/2021 10:47

My dh finds my fear of them a bit amusing. He had to get some stuff from under the bbq the other day and they were getting agitated. He was unfazed by it. I wasn’t.
I’ll sent them a message.

Yes, tell them. They eventually go but hang around for a couple of days. Our neighbour had one removed, luckily we closed all doors and windows for a while.

billy1966 · 17/07/2021 10:50

I think it would be a natural courtesy to warn them to close their windows for a bit

updownroundandround · 17/07/2021 10:50

Nip round and tell them, it's only giving them a 'heads up' in case of any angry wasps fgs !

I'd appreciate my neighbours telling me, for sure.

(But then I was the neighbour who knocked on my neighbours door to explain that I had to park one of our cars in front of their house, but only because we'd hired a van to pack up DD and take her to uni, but I'd move my car as soon as I could Grin, and to be fair, my neighbour said they really appreciated me telling them.)

Just messaged them and found out one of them has a wasps nest too and it’s getting removed tomorrow!
