DP has arthritis. He had bloods done last Friday but heard nothing back about them as they are routine and his have fallen under normal for some time. However, today he tried to order medication off his echo account and then had a missed call from an unknown number about half an hour later. There was no message left and no number to call back. I am now worried though that it was the GP or hospital department calling him to say there is an issue with the bloods.
Saturday is his medication day. Should he skip it this week until we know what's what?

When is he due his medication and what is it? Some drugs have to be stopped if your bloods are too far out of range. My DH takes an immunosuppressant and if he forgets to get his bloods done, they don't remind him just don't issue the drugs.

Methotrexate. He had the bloods done last week so shouldn't be an issue in that sense.

If it was something urgent regarding medication they would have left a message, I think he should still take it as it could cause more pain if he didn't, but if you're unsure you could ring 111 maybe?

I would hope so. It was around 3PM that the call was made so not like the surgery was about to close or anything.
Yes, may do that. Thank you

Can't you call the doctors and ask if they have results back, then place order for meds whilst on phone to them

LemonSherbetFancies · 16/07/2021 22:50

Can do on Monday but just concerned that his blood results are bad and nobody has bothered telling him. Especially as his dosage day is tomorrow (You only take methotrexate once a week)

He should really be calling and checking his results himself. GPs don't often routinely call with results unless absolutely urgent. Although in this case, they would have left a message if there was an issue. Also they won't send prescription to pharmacy if bloods aren't good.

As I said, he cannot now because the surgery is closed and the earliest time will be Monday.
He has always been told the nurse will ring him if there is a problem
