How do you hug friends of opposite sex?

My male friend and I spend a lot of time together. We always hug when one leaves. It used to be a quick hug, sort of arms round the shoulders.

Now I am getting a longer hug with a squeeze and arms round my waist, his face in my neck and a sigh . He is tall and I am short, so he has to bend down.

Both single. Is this a normal hug? I don’t hug any other friends this way. Don’t going to lie, I like a hug bear hug, especially after a year of no touching.

I have lots of male friends who I hug. If any of them sighed into my neck I’d ask wtf they were doing.

I've recently hugged two male friends I've been super close to since childhood for the first time since covid. Both were long, tight hugs with sighs. Totally non sexual, just a reconnection with close friends after an extended physical separation due to social distancing

Male hugs: one arm up one down, quick squeeze and a pat. Pats are friendly, long squeezes are sexy. Arms both up for women and waist for men are sexy, one up one down are matey. Oddly closed fist hugs are matey, especially if you have keys/purse in hand. Flat hand against them sexy.

I have lots of male friends.

I'd be happy never to hug anyone other than my kids ever again.
But it does seem he's getting more affectionate than a friend normally would, especially as you have been seeing each other throughout.
