Wardrobe/en-suite combo?

Eleoura · 15/07/2021 10:32

We are renovating a derelict house. There is space to make an en-suite and small walk-in-wardrobe. DH thinks its fine to have this as 1, open space with extractor fan and small widow to allow steam out. I think they should be separate rooms, otherwise clothes will end up mouldy. Have I missed something? Who is right?

I wouldn’t want my clothes in the bathroom.

I think you're probably right. We used to have an ensuite and I hated it. Unless you can have a hallway in between, I'd just stick with the walk in wardrobe personally.

There was a thread in property about this quite recently which was definitely against a combined room, but had some good suggestions. I can't remember what the thread was called but might only be a few pages back.

You don't want your clothes getting damp. You don't want a toilet in your wardrobe. Definitely separate rooms.

Separate rooms. My daughters en-suite and walk in wardrobe are on the same wall but are separate spaces

Spears rooms definitely. Pretty horrible to have clothes stored in the same room as a toilet. And what happens when you’re both getting ready and one of you wants to access clothes and one of you wants to use the toilet?

Ok it was about a million pages back but here's the other thread

If you have a floorplan maybe people could suggest alternatives?
