HEALTH AND CARE BILL

I'm posting here for traffic - and because I don't know where else to post.

The Health and care bill passed a second reading - 356 to 219 - but the fight against it is growing. This will destroy the NHS. Private companies will not only be allowed to own parts of the NHS, but will have representatives making NHS decisions - Virgin has already been given a seat on a decision making NHS body.

Non-medical, profit-motivated organisations will be making the decisions which affect ours and our children's health. This MUST be stopped if there is to be any quality of life in this country at all.

PROTEST, PROTEST, PROTEST

Please join us in campaigning to #ScrapNHSBill which entrenches privatisation & does nothing to address the social care crisis

@EveryDoctor is fighting this on Twitter, but they can't do it alone - it needs us to fight it too - taking to the streets if necessary.

I know this sounds over-dramatic, but I promise you it isn't. This govt. has taken advantage of the pandemic to line their own pockets and eat away at our liberties. DON'T let them take the NHS, too

Publicise this as widely as you can - far too many people are unaware of what is happening.

This bill is being voted on this week, there is no widespread coverage of this on mainstream media.

Please go to www.yournhsneedsyou.com/ to take the five actions to help stop the privatisation of the NHS.

@MaskingForIt

Personally I’d support a different healthcare system. What we have isn’t working and the NHS is no longer fit for purpose, nor is our country the same as it was when the NHS was founded.

People start shrieking “what about America” at any suggestion of change though, oblivious to the many other better systems, eg a Australia, France, Switzerland, Germany etc.

I agree with this.

The NHS is untenable in its current form.

But the Tories aren't likely to replicate some European model are they @Glassofshloer.
American companies already have their grabby mitts on things already.

sinkorsplash · 22/11/2021 21:49

I am in bits about this.
It terrifies me the consequences. I've written to my MP.
I've signed the petitions.
But it all seems like it's making no difference.

The fecking Convervatives need to do one.

Or we need to riot.

No I agree, I meant in broader terms rather than this specific bill/government.
