Dh has a work do 2.5 weeks ago. A restaurant meal with his colleagues etc. 2 days later, my dd came down with the croup. We got covid tester, all negative.

For 2 weeks it's been horrendous.
I'm 10 weeks post partum and at the weekend as dd got better, me and my newborn started coughing, and I am In the midst of the biggest cold I've had in a long time. I can't keep my eyes open. I'm lethargic, migraines sore throat ear pain the lot.
Newborn is coughing and won't settle. Dh had a cold for a day this Saturday gone and is now fine.

Just found out today Dh has another work do next week but this time at the pub with ALL the colleagues not just management.

Am I being precious to say that I'm actually pissed off. I'm hoping by Wednesday I'll feel better and be over this but I'm dreading then catching another virus Grin or do I need to give my head a wobble?

You'd be very unlucky to catch another one wouldn't you?

Monsterjam · 14/07/2021 20:48

Are you pissed off because he might go out and catch another virus or just that he is going out? Sorry confused a bit by your post x

Mammyloveswine · 14/07/2021 20:48

Have you been tested again?

rainsometimes · 14/07/2021 20:48

@Mammyloveswine

Have you been tested again?
Nope. Do you think I should? Because I guess due to dh work environment i could have caught covid while dd had the croup

Selfish bastard going on a jolly when his wife and child are unwell.

LadyCatStark · 14/07/2021 20:52

YABU, would you have felt like this pre Covid?

Monsterjam · 14/07/2021 20:53

I think if you are still unwell when the times comes you could tell him to stay home and look after the children, but stopping him going out incase he catches something seems very unfair, he could catch something anywhere he goes. Get well soon

ZenNudist · 14/07/2021 20:53

I think he's allowed to go out. You can't insist everyone stays in so you don't catch a cold. You have to emerge, with weak immune systems at some point.

OlympicProcrastinator · 14/07/2021 21:14

A decent husband would stay and let his wife rest while he took over care of the sick baby seeing as you’ve been on your knees yourself. It’s not a matter of him not being ‘allowed’ out, my DH wouldn’t go under those circumstances, I wouldn’t need to ask. I don’t think YABU at all. Flowers

Bananacocks · 14/07/2021 21:19

I think in your position I would be getting a covid test for myself.

NerrSnerr · 14/07/2021 21:23

Nope. Do you think I should? Because I guess due to dh work environment i could have caught covid while dd had the croup

Of course you need to be tested and all need to be isolating until results come back if any of you have a new, persistent cough (and it sounds like you and the baby do). The rules on this have not changed.
