To be worried about this?

I noticed this mark on my arm last night. I can't remember if I scratched it last night but it was sore. It's still very sore now, but not when I touch it which is very strange. It feels quite hard and rough. I've never had eczema or any skin problems. Any ideas? Should I be worried?

It’ll probably be gone in a day or two. Are you prone to health anxiety?

bookit · 12/07/2021 08:33

@MaskingForIt oh yes! More so at the moment as I'm going through a really stressful time Sad Because it's sore I find it hard to distract myself from it

Stress can cause skin problems to flare up, so it could be eczema even if you've never had it before.

If you're worried, see your GP.

This could be discoid eczema, but it looks more like the start of ringworm (a fungal infection) - it looks like it's developing that clear centre.

A pharmacist will be easier to see than a GP, and they can diagnose it and give you the right cream/spray/whatever. If they tbhink you need to see a GP, they will tell you that too

@ChristmasFluff I think you might be right! Our cat has missed it's flea and worm treatments so that could be it. I'll go to the pharmacist and see if I can get something for it.

Thanks everyone!
