Going to sleep after football

YABU - yes I can fall asleep easily
YANBU - it's hard to switch off

I think I'm about to get a snack and see if that helps but I don't feel I can get to sleep. No trouble here, everyone is quiet as churchmice.

Me too, but I'm a natural night owl anyway. I don't think the drinks will have helped in getting anything close to a good night sleep😂

PunchedJudy · 12/07/2021 01:22

I'm in bed. Been at a bbq all day but starving now and struggling to wind down. Contemplating a crisp sandwich.

Frownette · 12/07/2021 01:24

I've decided to have a snack of fried egg, chips, vege sausage, cheese, and burger sauce. So I'll pass out in a corner from overload Grin. Sleep one method.

HomerSimpsonsDonut · 12/07/2021 01:38

I can't sleep either. Really disappointed about the results, but someone had to lose I suppose!
No point getting worked up about it.
Hope you manage to sleep soon OP.

Kids and dh fell asleep in seconds... Here I am over 2hrs later still wide awake and worrying about work Hmm I blame the tension of the match... And the sadness...

SupermanInk · 12/07/2021 01:50

I’m awake with one of our dogs. She’s an anxious girl after a bad start in life but there were fireworks here after the football so she’s very upset. Hope you all fall asleep soon.

I've decided to have a snack of fried egg, chips, vege sausage, cheese, and burger sauce.

That’s one hell of a snack. Hope it does the trick. 🤣

DoucheCanoe · 12/07/2021 01:52

I can't switch off either.

Trying to remind myself that it really doesn't impact on me at all and there is absolutely nothing to stay awake thinking about but it doesn't seem to be working!

HappydaysArehere · 12/07/2021 02:05

Same here but also recovering from a day celebrating my 80th birthday. Watched the football although I don’t follow it I always watch the important games. However, got so emotionally involved that I can’t go to sleep. Can’t have a “snack” as I have already consumed
a million calories and don’t feel like food.

DoucheCanoe · 12/07/2021 02:06

@HappydaysArehere, a Happy Belated birthday to you! 🎂

wheresmyhairytoe · 12/07/2021 02:09

I just can't switch off and I need to be up for work at 6.30!
My busiest day tomorrow too 😥

YANBU

the buzz is just wearing off.
I have a very sore throat so I doubt I will sleep well tonight anyway!

You and me both! And, judging by the number of rooms I see lit in my neighbourhood, we are not alone...

Sigh. It WILL come home one day Smile

DoucheCanoe · 12/07/2021 04:17

I'm in Scotland @FlowerArranger so not many others awake pondering round here 🤣

It WILL, the Euros were just the World Cup warm up. Those lads did us proud!

HappydaysArehere · 12/07/2021 09:22

@DoucheCanoe Thank you for the Happy Birthday. Agree this is a warm up and gathering experience for those really young players who were so upset about their penalty kicks. Looking forward to the World Cup. Can’t believe I am saying that as I usually see it as a major interference with Corrie.
