Another neighbour one

Neighbour has, without permission, painted the back and sides of my new and new painted fence, black, making a horrific mess.

What can I do?

I really think your best solution here is to repaint the fence so that your side doesn’t look awful.

Paint your side whichever colour you want. And be lavish with your paint.
If they say anything then just state that it's your fence and you'll do as you please.

They've damaged your brand new (probably expensive) property OP? Then report them. It's a criminal offense.

How about sending them a letter explaining the law and telling them to repaint the fence and to never touch it again

Paint your side now and be very liberal with it and also paint the sides your colour.

I’d re paint my side the cooler I wanted and their side the ugliest luminous orange and made sure they knew that if they touched it again I’d be reporting them for criminal damage.

Fence threads always make me think of this post on another fence painting thread.

We were in the same position op. Our fence. We painted our side grey. Ndn painted her side brown. We had a solicitor instruct her not to touch our property.. She legally had to allow us onto her property to maintain the fence. I went round and painted it grey

@LST.Yes terrible neighbours for painting the OP's expensive new fence so sloppily that black paint was coming through on her side then telling her to F of when she tried to speak to them about it.
