To have no clue what to do? COVID question

DS and I started showing COVID symptoms today, we’ve both been coughing on and off all day. We’ve both taken a test tonight and will hopefully have the results in the next few days. We are self isolating and will continue to do so until we have the results and for the required period if they are positive but I’m really struggling to find information online about what to do in my situation. I have a dog and live in a tenement building with a communal close and garden. Obviously we are supposed to stay in our flat but the dog will need to go out for the toilet 3/4 times per day. He’ll have to go without walks of course but I can’t see what else we can do but use the garden for toilet breaks. Online information advises that I enlist the help of friends/neighbours to assist with walking (which isn’t an option) but there’s no mention of toilet breaks, it’s like they just assume everyone has a private garden.

Has anyone else been in this situation?

The assumption is that if you have a dog then you will have a private garden.

If you don't then you will have to wait until there is no one I the garden then pop put

Take the dog out as normal and just wear a mask. I honestly wouldn't give it another thought.

Yes this. Don't worry about it. Just stay away from people

Legally you are absolutely not allowed to go out with the dog. Taking your pet out is specifically forbidden. If you don’t have friends or neighbours to help you are advised to get in touch with community volunteers.

I am not telling you what you should do - I am just telling what you are supposed to do.

I would also like to add that I am reliably informed that so far no one has been successfully prosecuted for violations under the Coronavirus Act.

Oh yeah this was me when I had it. Put a mask on and take the dog out: I did. Stay away from absolutely everyone. Go early morning and late at night

Honestly OP just take the dog out. I wouldn't give it a second thought. The guidelines need to be viewed with a bit of common sense.

Daub a red Cross on a T shirt? Of course you wear a mask and take ddog for a wee /poo. Rspca /Environmental Health /Covid Police. You will be pissing one off but logic says your ddog needs the loo surely so take it..

Take the dog out as normal. Wear a mask and if you see anyone explain they need to keep back.

You and your dog will have to make do with once very early in the morning and once very late at night, have a shower, put clean clothes on, double mask and wash hands just as your leaving. Gloves if you have them.
