Totally accepting that to receive a vaccination or not is always a personal choice (whatever my own views may be), I can't be alone in thinking that people who -

  • Drink alcohol
  • Smoke Tobacco
  • Use drugs

Are being unreasonable if they then refuse the vaccine, or even worse discourage others from being vaccinated, on the basis that "they don't know what's in it and what it will do to them"?

Surely willingly consuming substances which are known to kill whilst refusing and actively campaigning against a substance proven to save lives is hypocritical in the extreme?

AIBU to think that?

Couldn't agree more!

I’ve had my first vaccine and volunteered for the trials so I’m not arguing it but I would imagine that they would argue that the risks of the things you’ve listed are known, the research is there and they’ve been around for years. So, different to a new vaccine.

A close friend of mine won't be vaccinated but smokes heavily.

I don't understand it but it remains her decision.
