I disagree with track and trace

Just wondering if anyone had the same situation as me:-

Just come out of isolation following a positive Covid test, have been poorly but now fine. 3 days later I am notified by track and trace as a close contact, someone has given my details as I don't have the app.

I disagree I was a close contact as it was outdoors and I did not spend 15 minutes within 1-2m of anyone there!

Can I dispute this with track and trace and has anyone had any luck with doing so?

I've also just bloody well had Covid so I'm sure the chances of getting it again within a week are pretty low Hmm

Ignore it. It’s pointless, isolations are going to end soon anyway and like you say you’ve just had covid. I don’t think the police will be knocking down your door if you just go about your life, no one will even know.

miltonj · 10/07/2021 18:33

Ignore!! And have words with whoever named you.

girlmom21 · 10/07/2021 18:34

Yeah you can tell them you haven't been in contact with anyone and therefore won't be isolating

Mumteedum · 10/07/2021 18:38

Maybe you gave it to the person who named you.... Hmm

wasthataburp · 10/07/2021 19:31

Just ignore it

MadameMinimes · 10/07/2021 19:37

Did you talk to anyone face-to-face from under 1m away? There is no time on that. Even if that only happened for 30 seconds then you are a close contact, regardless of indooors/outdoors or wearing a mask.

Were you wishing 1m of someone for more than 1 minute.

15 minutes in 1-2 metres is just one of the ways you can be a close contact. The 15 minutes is also cumulative across a whole day, not necessarily all at once.

It’s probably more likely that you cave covid to the person who named you than vice versa though.

danni0509 · 10/07/2021 19:42

Sod that, if I’d just done 10 days I wouldn’t be doing another.

Test / track / whatever the fuck trace would be getting ignored.

Dishwashersaurous · 10/07/2021 20:09

Why did someone give your name if you haven't been anywhere

Watapalava · 11/07/2021 16:06

Worried about this as could potentially be in same situation

What happens if you ignore it (you cannot legally ignore track trace - you can ignore the app but not being notified by tracks nd trace properly)?

Do they ring you daily to check or is that just the ones who are diagonksed with covid?

Pinnerbrat · 11/07/2021 16:24

They rang me literally 2-6 times a day when our household had COVID, and apparently do that for contacts too... I gave my number for both teenagers here and one remained negative, so O gather I was also getting the calls die the contact, not just the infected. I blocked the number on my mobile, and did not give a landline. We did isolate and told people we'd seen. Nobody came to the door, but the calls continued relentlessly even after I filled in the Test/Trace webpage with contacts info. I can see why this drives people mad and feels excessive.Having also just had COVID, if I were in your shoes I would ignore it. But they will pursue you for the full 10 days. Seems the threatened home visits have been targeted at returning travellers.

INeedNewShoes · 11/07/2021 16:35

We're isolating as DD is a contact. I only know via her nursery. No one from test and trace has been in touch at all so maybe they're not keeping tabs on all contacts.

But, no, I would not be isolating if you tested positive so recently yourself!

My sister caught COVID at work. She duly reported her close contacts to T & T, one of whom was me. T & T didn’t contact me until the day before my isolation period was due to end...

Don't have the app on your phone

Conchitastrawberry · 21/07/2021 11:51

@Lourdes12

Don't have the app on your phone
She doesn’t have the so- says so right there in the original post.
Summertime21 · 21/07/2021 11:51

We were notified by them, didn't have a single follow up call

Bagelsandbrie · 21/07/2021 11:54

What happens if you just ignore it and / or don’t answer the phone? I’m disabled and never answer my phone, various reasons but particularly the home phone by the time I get there it’s stopped ringing! They’d have no idea if I was home or not!
