I don't know who needs to hear this today or ever, but you are good enough.
You are not rubbish. You are definitely not the worst.
So please please stop feeling guilty!

Guilt is a waste of energy and mental resources.
So just stop it, because you are only hurting yourself. Tell yourself what you would say to a loved one - be your own friend and be kind to yourself.

You are doing your best or not, but it's ok.
Just be strong & keep going.

Thank you. I know your positive thoughts come from a good place.

The thing is though, guilt is a useful feeling. Sometimes people do things that they should feel bad about. I feel like woman are being infantilised by being told they are always and forever lovely human beings who just need to pamper themselves. Sometimes we're not nice.

What would happen to society if everybody did heed this constant mantra that we are all lovely people who need pampering and 'self care?'

Sometimes we do bad stuff and the best thing is to own our mistakes and the affect they have on those around us. Also, there are many extremely unpleasant people who have taken on this recent mantra about self care to excuse their routine disregard for others.

It's not an actual FACT that feeling guilty is something we have to eliminate. It's a recent fad which conveniently sells: sparkling wine, mini breaks, bath products, knick knack gift shop trinkets, cosmetics, clothes etc etc. The whole 'treat yourself, you deserve it' industry. Not everybody does deserve treats all the time. Grown adults sometimes have to take a hard look at themselves.
