Would I have been U to do this?

Our (old) house has absolutely no front garden, the door opens onto the street and the pavement runs along the whole width.
Just now, through the nets ( yes, unfashionable, however essential in the circa) I spotted a young woman who had balanced her shop coffee on my windowsill and was busy texting with her nose about six inches from the glass.
WIHBU to pluck the curtain aside and go 'boo!'?

How rude of her so yes indeed go ahead

Can you have a window box to stop future use of your windowsill as a coffee table

Not really as it would probably crowd the pavement/ get pinched.

Do it! Cheeky bisom.

TidyDancer · 10/07/2021 12:05

That's rude. She's probably done it without thinking, but it's still rude.

Full disclosure: I did once call down " I don't think it really suits you" to a drunk person wearing our Christmas door wreath as a hat. Didn't half make them jump😈

I would - we have the same set up with the addition that our side is the only side for cars to park and, luckily, we’re parked outside our house at the moment (but we all park where we can down this road). The other day there was a loud, animated conversation going on out in the street and I looked out and there was one guy perched on our window ledge and another leaning on my car bonnet - I opened the window and asked if they were quite comfortable enough!! They soon shifted 🤣🤣 Also saw someone reverse into my car through the net curtain one day and was out there straight away to check the car wasn’t damaged only to be told not to worry as he hadn’t hit it - till I told him I’d seen him do it, when I got an apology!!

Shame you couldn't have opened the window 'without noticing' .That would have performed a similar function...

Aprilx · 10/07/2021 12:19

Y would NBU. Could you open the window and tip it over?

NothingIsWrong · 10/07/2021 12:24

A bit similar, I live right next to a bus stop, which is pretty well used. I once changed our wifi name to X Village_bus stop and listened to some very funny conversations from people trying to connect to it

Absolutely not unreasonable, how rude. When my parents lived in a flat in central London the staff from the restaurant on the corner of their road used to stand ON THE DOORSTEP of their building smoking and having their break! They even used to stare us down and tut when asked to move so that we could get in and out of the front door! They complained on numerous occasions to the restaurant owner with no long term effect.

I think people just don't realise or care how rude they are sometimes 🤔

Wilkolampshade · 10/07/2021 12:47

@afromom try smearing a thin layer of marmite on the step. That works. (allegedly)

afromom · 10/07/2021 13:03

Oh I like that idea! Unfortunately they have moved back to their main house now. They were only in London for a few years for my Dads job, he's retired now. But they pissed me off so much I'd be up for going back and doing it anyway, just to annoy the CFs! 😂

Imnothereforthedrama · 10/07/2021 13:05

Absolutely because it’d be funny ☺️
