Sports day

As much as I am happy that England are through to the final and how much happiness that brings for many.
AIBU to be sat watching the huge crowds and being sad that I could not attend my 6 year old DDs sports day last week, which would have been outside and socially distanced unlike Wembley stadium!

This is the 2nd sports day we have missed because of Covid, she won't be this age for long and she is an only child Sad it just seems ridiculous and completely contradictory. Sorry rant over!

YANBU. I'm not particularly fussed about sports day but I'm pissed off that my DD had to miss a week and a half of school and isolate due to a positive case in her bubble but a football team doesn't have to do anything if one of their number tests positive. Clearly a bloody football tournament is more important than education.

YANBU. I am actually allowed to watch DS at a county level athletics meet on Saturday (for which I'm very grateful), but not DD at her primary school sports day. Struggling to reconcile all the different rules and restrictions personally.
