To buy myself flowers for end of term?

I think IABU but I'm not sure i should care

Its end of term collection time and people are asking for donations to the class reps for flowers.

I was class rep last year and didnt get anything.

I was Class rep for another child the the year before that and didnt get flowers.

Now I'm not Class rep its flowers all round and I'm bitter and pissed off 🤣. I did the collections and all the guff that comes with being a class rep. Selfishly both times I mostly did it to get to know the other parents and kids, oh and the warm fuzzy glow of course😂

So its left me wondering if I was just a totally shit and unpopular rep. But mostly it reminds me of when I left my job. After years of putting into other peoples collections I got nothing at all. Nothing.

That stung. I was on maternity leave and got made redundant but still the thought that absolutely no one thought about my collection for many, many years of service really hurt.

Maybe I smell? 😂

Do it! Miserable buggers. On that note, most Mothers deserve flowers whenever they want them!

That's shit OP YADNBU... Get yourself some chocolates whilst you're getting the flowers, and stick to your guns and DO NOT contribute!

Hang on, do class reps get flowers?!

Sorry Helen!

@TheYearOfSmallThings

Hang on, do class reps get flowers?!

Sorry Helen!

Well last year for my reception child we was joint reps and the other rep got flowers when she went to a group meet up after term ended. I couldn't go but I never my share of the flowers. I'm not bitter 🤬

I didnt expect flowers. But when everyone seems to get them except me it feels personal. As my dd was in reception last year I had no expectations of the reps getting anything so wasnt fussed then ( until I heard my joint rep got some).

Anyone I'm not bitter or jealous much but where are MY FLOWERS!!! I spent hour glueing thank you pictures in a Fing book this time last year 😂😂😂

The more I hear "Sarah is such a amazing rep I'm sure you agree!" The more I hear "not like that fucking unless lazy incessant. What a twat she was"🤣

But I'm not bitter, like I say, thats the main thing. Got to stay humble.....

Never heard of a class rep. If you want flowers, buy flowers.

Tbh it would utterly piss me off to have to buy flowers for some parent who wasn't employed by the school.

It definitely isn't that in our case - it's just that Helen is the one who knows stuff and does stuff, while the rest of us sit waiting for her to do it, and that would include buying flowers.

I'm currently waiting for her to start collecting for end of year teacher gifts. Tick tock, Helen...

Hmm Helen is running out of time isn't she?

One of the kids reps this year has set up a info only WhatsApp group where she posts all the correspondence from the school and no one can reply so no endless "thank you" replies. You dont even need to sift out your emails.

Genius
