Nets to cover a garden, blatantly posting for traffic!

Has anyone covered their garden with a net / fine mesh to stop balls sailing over into next door? We have a tiny garden and an active child who has lost all his balls to the neighbours this evening. It's bloody annoying for everyone involved. I'd love to pin something up from the fence to the house to create an "enclosure". Don't care what it looks like as long as the sun can still shine through it. Cricket nets won't quite work.
Any ideas?

How big is your garden? As in how many meters by how many meters?

If it's small, ikea voile curtains are 2.8m by 2.5m for £3.50........sewing machine a couple pairs together, hook at each corner of your fence and use a washing pole in the middle to make like a big top tent shape.

Would be quite cheap and you couod take it down when not in use.

Bird netting from a garden supplier would probably work.

Swingball and a football version of swingball?

You want something like opengoal or stopthatball. Pricey though.
