Ok I finally admit I am bored and I want to be more active and social. I don't think I'll ever have the desire to sky dive but hit me with suggestions for new things to try please

Not necessarily exciting but I recently took up tennis (at 49) and I'm really enjoying it.

Have you got a bike? Google “Breeze Rides”. Women’s only bike rides at all levels, including beginners.

Can you swim? Try open water swimming ? Search for local groups on the Outdoor Swim Society or see if there is a Bluetits group nearby (Google “blue tits chill swimmers”).

Bell ringing?
Roller Derby?
Local History?
Bridge?
Volunteer for Scouts/Guides?

I was going to say tennis as well. I started playing just over a year ago and I absolutely love it!

BadgeronaMoped · 07/07/2021 19:21

Rollerblading! I did it as a teenager in the 90s and have recently got an itch to do it again, love the feeling of freedom, whizzing through the air.

The biggest adrenaline rush I ever had was white water rafting. That was in the US though, and probably not something you can easily replicate here, depending where you live. I like water things though, and have enjoyed canoeing and kayaking (I did a two day kayak course with british canoeing, got a certificate and everything) but that is an expensive hobby. If I lived nearer the sea I would be swimming every day I think.

Good thread. There's a boxing club locally to me and they have lots of social events too.

Oh some good ideas here. Thank you. I am trying paddleboarding soon and also open water swimming. I fancy trying horse riding
